48-Hour Film Festival

“Alphabet Soup”: 48-Hour Film Festival

Each spring, Spartan Media Productions hosts Alphabet Soup, a fast-paced 48-hour film challenge that celebrates cultural diversity and community engagement.

Open to UNCG students, local high school students, faculty, staff, and community groups, the festival brings together voices of all backgrounds to tell powerful stories in just two days.

Participants form teams, receive a surprise prop at kickoff, and race against the clock to script, shoot, edit, and deliver a short film by Sunday. Industry judges review the submissions, and winners are announced at a public screening event.

Why “Alphabet Soup”?

Every community is made up of names, groups, and identities, each represented by letters. When all those letters come together, they form a diverse, creative “soup” where every voice has a place.
